dc.description.abstractThe study was conducted in District Veterinary Hospital, Rangamati to determine the different diseases of livestock animals over two months period starting from March 1 to April 6, 2017 and July 5 to August 3, 2017. A total of 157 cases were recorded where the number of cattle, goat, sheep, swine, poultry, buffalo and dog were 57, 52, 6, 6, 31, 4, 1 respectively. The cases were categorized into three classes namely medicinal, surgical and gynaecology and obstetrics. Among these the medicinal cases were categorized four types namely digestive, respiratory, urogenital and integumentary system on the basis of bacterial, viral, parasitic and others causes. The diseases were diagnosed tentatively using anamnesis. Parasitic infestations, bovine ephemeral fever and pneumonia were predominant for all species followed by multi factorial (others), bacterial diseases respectively. The high prevalence of cases were reported 26.1% (n=41)with parasitic infection, 12.7% (n=20) were affected with bovine ephemeral fever, 8.3% (n=13) with simple indigestion, 6.4% (n=10) with common cold, 5.7% (n=9) with infectious bursal disease, 4.5% (n=7) with peste des petis ruminant, 4.5% (n=7) with swine erysipelas, 4.5% (n=7) with coccidiosis, 3.8% (n=6) with pneumonia, respectively. The common antibiotics used in diseased animals were Streptopen, Moxacil vet, Renamycin, Gentasone plus, Tylochem and Diadin. Commonly used anthelmentics were Vermic, Piper vet, Albencid, Peraclear and Trisol. Nutritional and other drugs were used respectively in various systems. The relationship between ages significantly associated as the p value of chi square test was 0.0004, 0.513, 0.0001 and 0.0468 respectively where (p<0.01) in maximum. The relationship between sexes was significantly associated as the p value of chi square test was 0.009, 0.53, 0.15 and 1.00 respectively where (p>0.01) in maximum.en_US
