Title: POVERTY REDUCTION BY GOAT REARING OF RURAL WOMAN IN SOME SELECTED AREA IN BD

Abstract: The study is conducted in two upazila namely Pakua and Chakaria under Cox’s bazar. The study was conducted to analyze the socio-economic status of rural woman in goat rearing for achieving the objectives. The study showed that most of the goat farmers were poor, illiterate and had a high number of family members; from the study it revealed that Goat farming was profitabie.The result clearly indicated that the average Age of puberty, Age of kidding, kidding interval, litter size, post partum heat period, Service per conception and Gestation period of Black Bengal goat were 190day,195day,345day,350day, 175day, 180day, 1.99,1.90,35.5day, 40day, 1.15, 1.25,142day, 144day respectively. The study also showed that average Age at puberty, Age of kidding, kidding interval, litter size, post partum heat period, Service per conception and Gestation period of cross bred goat in pakua and Chakaria were 200day, 210day, 366day, 400day, 250day, 270day, 1.5, 1.1, 115.75day, 120day & 146day, 148day respectively. The result clearly indicated that the reproductive performances of black Bengal goat were better than cross bred goat. On the other hand productive performances like higher birth weight, maximum body weight gain, high milk yield, longer lactation period were suitable in cross bred goat .Finally the study identified some important problems &some recommendations were made for developed of goat farming in BD.
