Abstract: An investigation was undertaken to determine the comparative clinical prevalence of diseases and disorders in cattle and goats at the Upazila Veterinary Hospital (UVH), Rangpur Sadar under Rangpur district during February to April, 2021. Total animals were 550, among them cattle were 250 and goats were 300. Diagnosis was done on the basis of general examination, physical examination and clinical examination. Clinical examinations detected 21 different types of diseases and disorders in 200 cattle. Among the cases, Gastrointestinal problems 57 (22.8%), Musculoskeletal problems 80 (32%), Urogenital problems 59 (23.6%), Integumentary problems 36 (14.4%), Sense organ problems 16 (6.4%), Nervous Problems 2 (0.8%) were recorded in cattle. Age wise prevalence in young and adult cattle were 133 (53.2%) and 117 (46.8%) respectively. Sex wise prevalence in male and female cattle were 104 (41.6%) and 146 (58.4%) respectively. In case of goats 25 diseases and disorders were recorded in 300 goats. Among the cases, Gastrointestinal problems 71 (23.67%), Musculoskeletal problems 57 (19%), Integumentary problems 54 (18%), Urogenital problems 63 (21%), Respiratory problems 30 (10%), Nervous Problems 9 (3%), Sense organ problems 11 (3.67%), Circulatory problems 5 (1.66%) were recorded. Age wise prevalence in young and adult goats were 110 (36.67%) and 190 (63.33%) respectively. Sex wise prevalence in male and female goats were 138 (46%) and 162 (54%) respectively. Diseases and disorders of cattle and goats which were recorded both in young and adult animals but some of the specific diseases and disorders were in animals due to age susceptibility. In the study it was observed that ruminant (cattle and goat) mostly vulnerable to gastrointestinal problems, musculoskeletal problems and urogenital problems. Identification & analysis of the trend of clinical diseases available in study area will be useful for veterinary practitioners, researchers and also for policy maker to take necessary steps to control the incidence of clinical diseases of goats and cattle.
