dc.description.abstractThe present study assessed the changes in socio-economic conditions of small scale broiler farmers in rural areas of Bangladesh. The study on commercial broiler farming were carried out in 5 selected farm in Anowara Upazilla under Chittagong district from 15.07.10-30.12.10 study was carried out in respect of socioeconomic status of the farmer, demographic distribution , husbandry and feeding practices, and health protection program, cost and return from the flocks are highlighted. Results shows that the overall broiler farming in Anowara Upazilla is profitable where the average weight gain was significantly higher in farm 1 and farm 5 than farm 2, 3 and 4. Though all management were followed properly by all farms but performance of farm -2 is better due to feed quality. The best FCR was found in found farm 2 (1.8:1) and 1.9, 2, 2.06, and 2.3 respectively.en_US
