Abstract: A study was carried out on Foot and Mouth Disease in Faridpur Sadar in Faridpur District. Both prospective and respective data were collected during my placement schedule . Total 289 animals were observed in my Upazilla, among those 133 were bulls , 156 were cows where 64 bulls and 71 cows were affected. Percentage of FMD varied significantly in different host species with higher incidence in bull (48.12%) followed by cows (45.51%) during my Internship period of 2 months .The rate of FMD increased with increase of age .The observed main clinical signs were high temperature , profuse salivation ,vesicle found in the mouth ,tongue ,muzzle ,dental pad, coronary bend and interdigital space. The observed pathological lesions were vesicular lesions on the mouth especially in the tongue ,lips , gum , dental pad, coronary bend and interdigital space. Rupture of vesicles & secondary bacterial infection may occur. The economic loss due to consequence of FMD in cattle was very high in terms of mortality and decreased production. So proper vaccination schedule needs to control the disease.
