Abstract: | Enucleation is typically the treatment used when the eye needs to be removed to treat a severe infection or to lessen the chance that an eye injury would result in the development of a severe autoimmune illness (known as sympathetic ophthalmia). Depending on the state of the eye to be operated on evisceration, a less invasive surgery may be an option. Here, the surgery was lateral subconjunctival enucleation. A 3 month old male cat came to SAQTVH with severe eye injury. The case was referred to the surgery unit. After conducting physical examination, the clinical findings were- temperature 104.1°, anorexia and severe pain. Observing the condition, the surgeon decided to conduct surgery immediately. After surgery, antibiotic, anti-histaminic, topical antibiotic ointment was administrated as post-operative care. After 14 days, the patient was brought to remove the suture. The surgeon then conducted X- ray and the X- ray findings were completely fine. |
